tang's current state...i plan on taking as much of her as i can and grafting that to the bulk of the bassman, creating zombie tang, rising from the grave...
when i first got to england i was in cambridge i found an old and severly beat raliegh beach cruiser in a dumpster. i grabbed it and took it back with me. i took it to a local auto garage and used their grinders and sand paper and sand blasting booth and took the frame down to bare metal. the first time i painted tang, and where she got her name was from the galaxy gold and orange paint job she got. after layer upon layer of primer and gold base coat i then alternated between osha safety orange and gold. she looked like a gold fish in the sun !! i bought all new chrome fenders, ape hangers, whitewalls, springer fork, and a brooks brothers hair pin saddle that cost more than the rest of the bike.
that is tang's first incarnation under my reign. beside her you can see wicked, third place finnisher of the first klunkerklassik. but the white walls were soon stained a murky brown color from mud puddles and booze and some blood here and there. but, look at that shine ! there was even a little generator to power front and rear bullet indicator lights.
the fire investgator said the fire was around 2,100 degrees to account for all the aluminum stuff being in such rough shape  this is a shot of tang's front disk brake, fender and a few bits and pieces that didn't melt. whole intake manifolds for ford V-8's are gone, burned up, but that little dribble around the disk is all that's left of tang's signature bladed fork.
check this out !! i finally got a picture of tang's front end. here we have a functioning shimano disc brake !! it looks pretty tuff and works good too ! i rule !
here is a side shot of the most recent stretch of tang. dig the front disc brake adn the spider web chainring, bobbed fenders abd smaller wheels w/ fire ball tires. she's changed a bit since the last phot's were taken.
nice frontal shot of tang. notice how the whole thing is crooked ? but a good shot of the fire balls and origonal head badge. she's a 1970's raliegh cruiser.
here is a picture that chunkolini's son drew, cederic, the boy. chunkolini's  wife and kid met up with us at the local park. we instinctivley started ridding aroind in circles and began  a mild mannered demo-derby. being quick witted like his father, cederic,  jotted down a quick and dirty  sketch of tang.  as many ofthe  other bikes were much more suited to a derby environment than her highness, tang. she held her own however and showed some  of the other shorter wheelbases how it's done ! beeyatch !!

tang likes to drink almost as much as we do. here she is in front of her favorite bar.
hhere she is giving her friend Carpo a ride, through the bar, crashing into most everything. today we found out her handlebars are wider than the doorframe.
after drinking too much (and tang can drink!!) tang ended up in a bad part of town. to be continued...
