| here we have the tall bike with no name. i built it specifically for the BLBC's bike kill. i never was into tall bikes so much as sled cruisers. so here ya' go. the fork is a pretty cool design jared recomended. i welded one pipe to the outside of both forks, so i can remove them adn actually repair the bearings and grease them, what a novel concept !! i finnally built the stermey archer seven speed (pics to come...) w/ dt swiss spokes on a sun rhino lite doublewide downhill rim. the shifter cable wouldn't reach the handlebars so i put it "suicide style" on the seat post. it's pretty exciting up there !! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| here is the platform for my tall bike. a perfectly good western cruiser that weighed like 40 pounds. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| given the heighth's i was reaching for, and my lack of any real expierience at tall bikes i thought a step through frame, or girls bike would be easier to use, crowning the top of over 10 feet of fence post. that was galvanized *cough cough* i might add. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| here are both frames stripped and ready to go | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| so like i said, this was built to rock out w/ the BLBC. paint was drying on my way to nashville. flat black of course. i had just finished the wheels, and gotten tires on them. i hadn't even gotten used to how to get on the damn thing, or shifted into anything higher than 5th gear. the 'archer internal seven speeds are tall. well, halfway to nashville i hit a guardrail in my car and the bike gets pitched out, landing on the highway. it's dark out, 4am, and raiming, the bike is black too. i run up to it waiving my hands as some massive LTD or brogham plows into and over the un-named bike. it was totaly fucked ! and the car ket going. fuck them !! i dragged it back to the car and took off. i have since re-built the wheel (rim and hubs were fine ! about 1/2 the spokes and nipples were shot) and that wheel is on TANG. pictures to come ! and the tall bike hasn't been re-built yeet. but i plan on it.'ya know, it's only been seven months !! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| and this is what it looks like now ! the little wheels make it quite nimbel. plus they allow the bike to quickly accelerate to the max speed (slow) dig the chicago style handlebars. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
